Arsenal close to completing deal for international defender

MATHIEU DEBUCHY is close to completing a loan move to Aston Villa, according to reports.

 

Mathieu Debuchy is reportedly close to a loan deal with Aston Villa

 

The 30-year-old has struggled for opportunities this term, making only eight appearances for the Gunners in all competitions.

A number of clubs are believed to have shown interest in the right-back, including Villa, Bayer Leverkusen and Roma.

 

However, French newspaper L'Equipe claim a deal is all but done with Premier League strugglers Villa.

And Debuchy will go on loan with the midlands side until the end of the season.

 

Remi Garde has previously admitting holding talks with Arsene Wenger about the defender, and it seems a deal may have been agreed.

“I had a conversation with Arsene a few days ago about some of the players and Mathieu Debuchy was among these players," he said. 

"It’s too early and it won’t help me or anyone to go forward in this style to make too many more comments.”
