TWITTER is ringing in the New Year with a new fireworks emoji. Here's how to send one.
Billions of text messages, tweets, instant messages and Facebook posts will be sent around the world today, heralding the start of 2016.
Twitter is helping its well-wishers ring in the new year with a brand-new fireworks emoji.
The simple emoticon will appear whenever the social hashtag #HappyNewYear is used on the micro-blogging service.
The limited edition fireworks emoji works in 35 different languages, including English, French, Arabic, Farsi, Chinese, Hebrew, Portuguese, Spanish, Hindi, Punjabi and German.
Twitter has also teamed up with the city of New Year to feature people's tweets during the iconic countdown in Times Square.
And if you're not on Twitter, NewsNewsBlog.blogspot.com has rounded up some of the best GIFs to send your friends and family on Facebook, Twitter, iMessage and more.
These mini-moving picture files are sure to add a bit of joy to your midnight message and hopefully raise a smile from your recipient.
You can copy and paste all of the images below into a text or post them on social media – unfortunately GIFs aren't compatible with WhatsApp.
