Windows 10: How to quickly free 25GB of space after major November update
Windows 10 users can save gigabytes of space using this simple clean-up operation
MICROSOFT'S first blockbuster update to Windows 10 can leave your PC feeling a little bloated, but this quick solution can free up more than 25GB of internal storage.

Earlier this month, Microsoft rolled out its first major update to Windows 10 – version 1511.
The new update brings a slew of new features and functionality, including performance fixes, visual tweaks, new functionality for virtual assistant Cortana and IT-level Windows 10 management tools to your PC.
The Redmond technology firm claims the November update brings a 30 per cent performance boost over Windows 7 machines running on the same hardware.
However users who have recently installed the new operating system update should run a Disk Cleanup following the installation.

Windows 10 users are reported freeing more than 20GB of internal storage with the simple system clean-up.
Navigate to the Start Menu and search for the Disk Cleanup utility – open the app.
After the desktop app has scanned your PC, you can chosen to delete from a range of categories, including Temporary Internet Files, System Error Memory Dumps, Recycle Bin, System Queued Windows Error Reporting and more.

Users can save more than 20GB by deleting previous versions of Windows from their PC

Pick the categories you want to erase – then tap Clean Up System Files.
After a second scan of your device, another option entitled Previous Windows Installation(s) will appear.
This category is not always selected by default, but could be using a huge amount of internal storage on your Windows 10 device.
Be warned – do NOT delete the Previous Windows Installation(s) if you count on rolling back your operating system to the previous version.
If you're happy with your current Windows OS and fancy some additional storage, click OK at the bottom right-hand corner of the Disk Clean-Up app.

Only delete the files when you're sure you will not need to roll-back to a previous OS
A warning will pop-up and ask you whether you "are sure you want to permanently delete these files?'
Hit Delete Files.

Microsoft has labelled the November Update its "next milestone" for Windows 10, which rolled out earlier this summer.
Amongst the new additions, Windows 10 users are now able to install apps to external storage devices.
