gers boss Mark Warburton has been linked with a host of jobs since joining the club |
WES FODERINGHAM reckons Rangers will have to get used to manager Mark Warburton being linked with other jobs.
Warburton has been heavily touted for the vacant position at Fulham and speculation has intensified this week that he could be set for a return to London.
Steve Clarke’s sacking by Reading will inevitably see former Brentford boss Warburton linked with that post too.
But Warburton has insisted he is going nowhere and is totally committed to Rangers.
Light Blues keeper Foderingham said: “There is always going to be speculation, whether it is the manager or a player.
“When they are doing well, there is going to be speculation. I can only believe what the gaffer has said to us and he has told us he is staying.
“He is a top-quality manager and he has done a fantastic job. It is testament to the work he has done as a manager.”
Warburton recently tipped Foderingham to be a future England international.
And the Ibrox No 1 admitted it is a major ambition to play for his country.
Fraser Forster and John Ruddy were both capped following spells in Scotland. Foderingham, 24, added: “It was a wonderful bit of praise.
“I’m sure he had the next few years in mind and he spoke in terms of where my development is at the minute.
“It is something I am always going to work towards.
“I don’t see why I won’t get the opportunity [to play for England] if I continue to play well, progress and get into the Premiership and then Europe with Rangers.
“After that, it’s down to me and my performances.
“Fraser and John did fantastically well in Scottish football and have gone on to have good careers down south and play for England.
“I can only concentrate on myself and try to put in good performances for Rangers.”
