ILoveMemphis critiques celebrity versions of his "Hit the Quan" dance in our video exclusive.

Plus, rapper tells story behind hit song and viral dance craze

Ever since releasing "Hit the Quan," ILoveMemphis has become a viral sensation thanks to his Rich Homie Quan–inspired dance. Once a Vine favorite, the track eventually went mainstream, with big-name celebrities and musicians taking on the series of moves that accompany the catchy song. ILoveMemphis stopped by Rolling Stone to comment on some of those celebrity versions.

While viewing Dinah Jane and Normani Kordei of Fifth Harmony's take on the dance, ILoveMemphis was complimentary of the girl-group members. "They're into it!" he said before watching Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's take in front of his gym equipment.
The rapper was most honored by Kendrick Lamar's Quan-break in the middle of his cinematic video for "These Walls." "When I seen that, I really knew how big 'Hit the Quan' was," ILoveMemphis said of Lamar's goofy version alongside actor Terry Crews.

He also gave a glimpse at how the song came together, noting how it began originally as a studio freestyle inspired by his friend Gabrielle, who accompanied ILoveMemphis to the RS office. Gabrielle had been such a huge Rich Homie Quan fan that she had turned ILoveMemphis on to the MC. Both became enamored with the slow-moving gyrating dance that Quan would do, and the rest was history.
