Marcos Rojo gives the thumbs up from his hospital bed |
MARCOS ROJO has had surgery on his dislocated shoulder.
The Manchester United defender suffered the injury in training last week and missed yesterday's Champions League defeat in Wolfsburg.
"My operation was a success," he said in a post on instagram.
"Thank you to my beautiful wife, always with me.
"Thank you everyone for your messages of love and support."
It was the same shoulder Rojo, 25, injured last season and which left him out of action for four weeks - although he did not have surgery on that occasion.
The Argentina international's recovery will be closely monitored by United after the club suffered further injury blows in Germany yesterday.
Both Chris Smalling and Matteo Darmian returned from the 3-2 defeat with injuries that could affect manager Louis van Gaal's selection plans for the festive period.
United travel to Bournemouth this weekend and host Norwich seven days later.
They then play Stoke away on Boxing Day before a crunch home clash with Chelsea on 28 December.
