REMI GARDE has revealed he is in the market for new signings when the transfer window reopens next month.
The Frenchman, who took charge at Villa Park in November as the replacement of Tim Sherwood, finds his side rockbottom of the Premier League.
Villa have picked up just eight points this season and extended their winless run in the league to 18 matches after today’s defeat 2-0 defeat to Norwich.
But Garde intends to close the 11 point gap to safety with a number of signings January.
When asked if he’s looking for new arrivals, he said: “Yes. I am working on that because it will be very important for us in the second half of the season.
"We are going to strengthen the team because of the situation we are in we need fresh blood. It will be important, but it is not because we lost today everything has changed.
“The previous two weeks we were more hopeful than today but we have to see that a few players could help us to win some games in the second half of the season."
