MICHAEL CARRICK admitted it was "hard to take" losing to Stoke 2-0.

 

Michael Carrick says United are in a tough situation

 

United suffered a fourth straight defeat in all competitions as goals from Bojan Krkic and Marko Arnautovic heaped more pressure on Louis van Gaal.

Carrick's team struggled to impress once again under their Dutch boss as Van Gaal continues to edge closer towards the exit door.

And the midfielder admitted the club are not in a good place at the moment.

 

“The situation we are in at the minute is tough,” Carrick told Sky Sports afterwards. 

“It’s a horrible run, a horrible feeling, it’s hard to take.

“It’s Manchester United we’re playing for, it’s a special club. What else can I say?"

United's next match sees them host Chelsea on Monday.
