MANCHESTER UNITED are set to terminate Victor Valdes' contract, thus ending his ending his 12-month nightmare at Old Trafford.

The goalkeeper joined United in January on an 18-month deal as a back-up for number one David De Gea.
But his time in Manchester turned sour after a row with Louis van Gaal over playing for the reserve team.

The 33-year-old has been made to train with the youth team and was not given a squad number this season.
