Manchester United shot stopper David de Gea rubbishes reports of Old Trafford revolt
Reports of unrest in the Manchester United dressing room are untrue according to De Gea

DAVID DE GEA has rubbished rumours of a revolt and says Wayne Rooney's calming influence is keeping Manchester United's dressing room together.

There have been suggestions that players have joined pundit and fans in beginning to question the methods of manager Louis van Gaal, who has come in for fierce criticism with on a five-match winless run which has seen them slump to fourth in the Premier League and crash out of the Champions League.
Rooney has missed United's last three games with an ankle injury, delaying his 500th appearance for the club.
But de Gea revealed that he has still been playing a key role as the goalkeeper played down suggestions of unrest.

De Gea, who almost quit Old Trafford to join Real Madrid in the summer before signing a new four-year contract, said: "There's a great atmosphere. The dressing room is very together and united.
"As our captain, Wayne has a big personality. He always tries to motivate us. When things are going badly, it's always him who speaks up and encourages us.
"He's breaking all kinds of records for goals scored and games played and I reckon he deserves it as he is such a great player.

"And he's the same off the field. He's the club captain and he's the one who has to do the talking and motivate us. That's what he always does. They are a great set of lads and we're all very happy with the group of players that we have. I think that's really important in a team if it wants to achieve big things."
And De Gea insists United can still challenge for the title. "This league is very tough to win and there will be a number of teams who will be in the shake-up for the title," he said.
"That's what we all want, to stay up near the top and to get to April and be in a position where we can win the league. That's what we're going to try to make happen."
