Manchester United reportedly want to bring both Massimiliano Allegri and Paul Pogba to Old Trafford |
MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly interested in considering a double swoop for Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri and star midfielder Paul Pogba next summer.
Tutto Mercato claim United have lined up Allegri to replace Louis van Gaal, who has faced criticism for his style of management.
Van Gaal is expected to retire when his contract expires in 18 months time, however the Old Trafford hierarchy are reportedly weighing up whether to end the Dutchman's reign at the end of the season.
And Allegri, who guided the Italian giants to the Serie A title and the Champions League final last term, is being eyed as Van Gaal's replacement.
The Italian will reportedly try and persuade former United midfielder Pogba to join him at Old Trafford if he is offered the job.Pogba is being tracked by a number of clubs including Barcelona, Chelsea and Manchester City. The French international, who is rated at £70million, was spotted in Manchester earlier this week during time off from training with Juventus.Allegri has however distanced himself from the rumours linking him with a move to England. “I have a contract running until 2017,” he told the Corriere dello Sport. “I’m happy here and I’m focused on Juventus’ objectives.“They are much more important than these rumours which come from elsewhere. In a month the transfer window will be open, so that’ll please you and you’ll be able to move on."
