Louis van Gaal set to recall Manchester United loanee

LOUIS VAN GAAL is preparing to cut Tyler Blackett's loan spell at Celtic short and bring him back to Manchester United, according to reports.

Blackett has made seven appearances in all competitions for the Scottish side so far and had been set to stay until the end of the season.

But injuries to Luke Shaw and Marcos Rojo have left the Red Devils short of options at the back.

 

The Dutch boss has been forced to play youngsters Axel Tuanzebe and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson among the back-four and the Daily Mail now claim Van Gaal wants Blackett to return to Old Trafford.

United have looked shaky at the back in recent weeks having suffered four straight defeats.

 

And Van Gaal hopes the 21-year-old's return to Manchester will add some stability to his defence.

Van Gaal's men take on Chelsea tomorrow (5.30pm), hoping to bounce back from their 2-0 defeat to Stoke on Boxing Day.
