LOUIS VAN GAAL admits he will recall James Wilson from Brighton if the club face a crisis.
United have gone five games without a win and have only scored 21 goals in 16 league games this season.
Wilson went to Brighton earlier this month but United have the option to recall him ahead of their Boxing Day clash with Stoke.
He's scored two goals in four appearances for the Championship promotion-chasers.
“If we are in trouble we can recall him,” said the Dutchman.
“We have sent him to Brighton because he needs match rhythm and he has to show his qualities.
“We have extended his contract because of his qualities and we believe in him. If we are in trouble we can recall him.”
