LOUIS VAN GAAL has revealed he has spoken with Manchester United chiefs Sir Alex Ferguson, David Gill and Ed Woodward.
Van Gaal stormed out of his press conference today after delivering an angry and emotional monologue.
The Dutchman was responding to questions about his future with Jose Mourinho available following his sacking at Chelsea.
Last night rumours swirled around social media claiming Van Gaal had been sacked, rumours which turned out to be just that.
But Van Gaal admitted he had spoken to former manager Ferguson, director Gill and executive vice-chairman Woodward.
When asked if he was surprised about the speculation, the 64-year-old said: "No, I don't think that you can do that because you have to stick by the facts and when I get calls from Alex Ferguson and David Gill and Ed Woodward because you are creating something that is not good, that is not being the facts and now I have to answer the questions.
"I don't think that I want to do it. I only say now I am focused on Stoke City, I help my players, I wish you a Merry Christmas and maybe also a Happy New Year when I see you. Enjoy the wine and a mince pie. Goodbye (walks out)."
