LOUIS VAN GAAL has revealed why his Manchester United players are struggling.

United have now lost four in a row - and gone seven without a win - after defeat at Stoke.

Van Gaal dropped Wayne Rooney to the bench but brought him on at half time with United already two down through Bojan and Marko Arnautovic.

And Van Gaal thinks the pressure is getting to his team with his future in the balance.

 

"I'm always very faithful [to his players]," Van Gaal added.

"And I see also how they have trained, so they want to perform well, but the circumstances are also difficult, not only the circumstances with the wind.

"Also, the pressure that in my opinion is the reason they don't dare to play football.

"In the second half they were in a losing position and they can give everything more easily."
