Liverpool suffer setback over Dejan Lovren's knee injury
Dejan Lovren's knee has become too swollen for a full assessment

DEJAN LOVREN must wait a further 24 hours to discover the extent of the knee injury that forced him from the field in the 2-2 draw with West Brom on Sunday.

The Croatia international was later pictured leaving Anfield on crutches, but despite this Jurgen Klopp was relatively upbeat after the match.

“We don’t know too much about it, it’s a cut, as everybody could see in the dressing room," he explained.
“We hope it’s not too serious, but we have to wait for the scan. We have to wait overnight to see if it becomes swollen or not.

"Hopefully we’ll have a little bit more luck than in previous situations like this – but we have to wait.”
However, according to the Liverpool Echo, the injury has now swollen too much, meaning a full assessment cannot be made until at least Tuesday - yet another blow for Klopp.

Lovren is the latest addition to Liverpool's injury list, with Mamadou Sakho sidelined and Daniel Sturridge plagued with persistent hamstring problems.
Although there is some good news for Klopp on the Sakho front, with the Frenchman expected to return for Sunday's clash with Watford (1.30pm).
