Liverpool boosted after Dejan Lovren injury with Mamadou Sakho back in training
Jurgen Klopp's backline will be boosted by the return of France international Mamadou Sakho

MAMADOU SAHKO has stepped up his return to fitness as Dejan Lovren was ruled out of Liverpool's Christmas programme with a knee injury.

Lovren will be sidelined for up to a month as a result of the setback he endured when being on the receiving end of a full-blooded tackle by Craig Gardner in Sunday's 2-2 draw with West Brom.
The Croatian defender has not suffered any ligament damaged but needed five stitches in a joint which remains badly bruised and severely swollen.

Depending on his recovery, he could be out for seven matches, including the Capital One Cup semi-final first leg with Stoke and home Premier League games with Arsenal and Manchester United.
The blow to manager Jurgen Klopp could be offset by Sakho's return to training last week following a knee injury of his own which he sustained against Crystal Palace on November 8.
The France international took part in a practice game yesterday and will be monitored before deciding whether he will come into contention for Sunday's trip to Watford.
