Jose Mourinho sacked: Chelsea dismiss boss after disastrous Premier League campaign
Jose Mourinho has been sacked as Chelsea manager

CHELSEA have sacked manager Jose Mourinho.

The Blues have cut their losses on the Portuguese boss after losing their ninth match of the season on Monday at Leicester, despite the possibility of a £40million pay-out.
Mourinho was under huge pressure with Chelsea sitting 16th in the table with just 15 points from 16 games.
Reports in Spain this morning claimed Juande Ramos' agent had flown to London to discuss taking over as an interim boss.

CHELSEA'S FULL STATEMENT ON JOSE MOURINHO SACKING

However it appears Guus Hiddink is set to take the job until the end of the season.
Mourinho led Chelsea to the title last season but has struggled to keep the dressing room together this term.
On Monday he claimed his players had betrayed him.
He said: “We conceded two goals that were unacceptable. One of my best qualities is to read the game, read the opponent and identify everything about them for my players.

"I feel like my work was betrayed.
“When you have some players, especially in some crucial positions don’t reach that level, it’s difficult.
“All last season I did phenomenal work and I brought them to a level which is not their level.
"It’s more than they really are. All this season we are doing so bad that the players, not all of them of course, makes it so, so difficult.”
Having signed a new four-year deal at the club in the summer the sacking is likely to cost Chelsea close to £40million unless an agreement has been made.

WHO'S IN THE RUNNING TO TAKE OVER AS CHELSEA BOSS

A Chelsea statement said: "All at Chelsea thank Jose for his immense contribution since he returned as manager in the summer of 2013.
"His three league titles, FA Cup, Community Shield and three League Cup wins over two spells make him the most successful manager in our 110-year history.
"But both Jose and the board agreed results have not been good enough this season and believe it is in the best interests of both parties to go our separate ways.
"The club wishes to make clear Jose leaves us on good terms and will always remain a much-loved, respected and significant figure at Chelsea.
"His legacy at Stamford Bridge and in England has long been guaranteed and he will always be warmly welcomed back to Stamford Bridge.
"The club’s focus is now on ensuring our talented squad reaches its potential.
"There will be no further comment until a new appointment is made."
