John Terry gives dressing room view on Mourinho's sacking as Chelsea appoint Hiddink
John Terry says player power played no part in Jose Mourinho's sacking

JOHN TERRY has admitted so-called 'player power' played no part in Jose Mourinho being sacked at Chelsea.

The Portuguese was sent packing on Thursday following the club’s worst start to a league season since 1978, with the Blues currently sitting just one point above the Premier League’s relegation zone.
Monday’s 2-1 defeat at Leicester was Chelsea’s ninth defeat from 16 league matches, with pundits and fans speculating that players had ‘downed tools’ in their bid to lift the club.

However, club captain Terry has categorically denied the accusations, claiming the players are fully focussed on getting results on the field.
"We are aware there have been rumours about player power at the club but I want to make it clear that is not the case," he wrote in Chelsea's matchday programme.

“We leave all the decisions to Mr. Abramovich and the board and know our job, as players, is to focus on getting results on the pitch.”
Chelsea have today announced Guus Hiddink will be the club's interim boss, taking charge in similar fashion to when he was caretaker in 2009.
