Gary Lineker: This Man Utd ace is not suited to Louis van Gaal's boring style of play
Bastian Schweinsteiger is not performing to the best of his ability, says Gary Lineker

BASTIAN SCHWEINSTEIGER is not playing well enough at the moment, says Gary Lineker.

The German signed a three-year deal with the Red Devils in the summer having spent 14 years at Bayern Munich.
Schweinsteiger has been in and out of Louis van Gaal's starting XI this campaign that has seen him manage just one goal in 24 appearances.
The 31-year-old is currently serving a three-match ban from the FA following a clash with West Ham's Winston Reid earlier this month.

The former Bayern midfielder has struggled to display the same type of form he showcased in the Bundesliga for many years and Lineker has noticed him under-performing.
The Match of the Day host believes Van Gaal's defensive style of play has also hindered Schweinsteiger's performances in recent months.
"He's not good enough at the moment," Lineker told German publication Sport Bild. "United's way of playing doesn't suit him. Manchester Untied play boring, slow football under Louis van Gaal.

"With Schweinsteiger, the emphasis is on ball control too. I would let him play more freely. I'm sure he will improve, but he has a dilemma. He needs time to get used to the English game.
"Schweinsteiger is 31 years old already, so he doesn't have much time left. The performance levels go down from the age of 30."
Reports have emerged that several of United's players are said to be unhappy with Van Gaal's tactics and have questioned some of his decisions in recent weeks.
