Emre Can believes Liverpool can finish in a Champions League spot this season |
EMRE CAN believes Liverpool can still qualify for next season's Champions League.
The Reds suffered a 3-0 defeat to Watford on Sunday as they stretched a run of four games without a win.
Jurgen Klopp's side sit ninth in the table, five points behind Tottenham in fourth place.
With Liverpool currently in the Europa League last 32, winning the competition or finishing in the top four are still achievable in order to secure them a place in Europe's elite competition next year.
And Can believes his side can reach that target if they become more clinical in front of goal.
"Of course, it is our goal to play in the Champions League next season," he said to Kicker. "The season is still long and a lot of things can happen.
"We lack a bit of consistency but take that West Brom match [a 2-2 draw] - we were clearly the better side but like so many times before were not able to make use of our chances.
"We have to be more clinical, and that will add up to more points. We have shown really good football every now and then during the past two months. It is not that nice to play against us."
Liverpool's next test sees them host league leaders Leicester City on Boxing Day.
