Diego Forlan: Manchester United must sign new strikers
Louis van Gaal has been urged to sign more strikers by Diego Forlan

MANCHESTER UNITED need to invest in more strikers, according to Diego Forlan.

The Red Devils have struggled for goals this season, netting just four times in their last five matches.
Wayne Rooney is the club's leading goalscorer this season with seven goals in all competitions, while his strike partner Anthony Martial netted six times.
Louis van Gaal sold Javier Hernandez and Robin van Persie in the summer and recently allowed James Wilson to go on loan to Championship outfit Brighton.

The Dutch boss has since considered recalling Wilson from his loan spell, but Forlan insists his former club need to bolster their attacking options further.
"In my opinion I think they need to have more strikers," he told Omnisport.
"Rooney is a great player but he is getting older and is playing in every position. He can't play every game.

Diego Forlan: Manchester United must sign new strikers
Forlan says United will have to be careful of over-playing Wayne Rooney

"In England, with all the competitions, you play more or less 60 or 65 games per year. So it is a lot of games. You travel a lot so you need more players. Maybe sometimes you will get more players injured so you won't have this player [available] for a couple of months.
"So a team where you play so many competitions and you have so many games, you need more strikers."
United play host to Norwich tomorrow afternoon (3pm).
