Chelsea plot double January deal despite doubt over Jose Mourinho's future
Jose Mourinho's future at Chelsea is under threat
CHELSEA are lining up moves for a striker and a defender in January.

The Blues slumped to their eighth loss of the season on Saturday when they went down 1-0 at home to Bournemouth.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is under increased pressure with reports suggesting he could be sacked this week.

Mourinho's side face Porto in the Champions League on Wednesday, a fixture which could prove crucial to the Portuguese's fate.

But Chelsea are expected to delve into the January transfer market reinforcements regardless of what happens with their manager.

Express Sport understands a forward signing is on the agenda with Shakhtar Donetsk ace Alex Teixeira and West Brom hitman Saido Berahino top targets.

Teixeira is worth £30million and is eyed as a potential long-term replacement for Diego Costa.

Berahino is also under consideration, having stayed at the Hawthorns in the summer despite numerous bids from Tottenham.

Napoli frontman Gonzalo Higuain could also be an option but may prove too expensive.

And Chelsea could also revive their move for Everton centre-back Stones.

The Blues tried and failed with a number of bids for Stones in the summer.
