LA Galaxy midfielder Steven Gerrard has revealed why he turned down the chance to join Chelsea during his time at Liverpool.
He told RTE: "Chelsea the club didn't interest me. Neither did Inter Milan, neither did Real Madrid, because I was already working for a fantastic football club."
Meanwhile, Blues boss Jose Mourinho has admitted he hopes Manchester United hero Gary Neville succeeds after taking charge at struggling Valencia.
“I just wish him well,” he said. “He was a very good player and a very good pundit. Now he must prove he can be a very good manager, which is a completely different job.”

And finally, Brazilian forward Douglas Costa has revealed he rejected interest from Stamford Bridge before joining Bayern Munich in the summer for £22million.
"Chelsea also wanted to sign me," he told Bild. "They were seriously interested and made great efforts. But I only really wanted to work with [Pep] Guardiola and join Bayern."
