CHELSEA will be forced to resell tickets for the traditionally popular Boxing Day fixture after fans sent theirs back.
The Blues will face Sunderland on December 19 and Watford on December 26, as they seek to add to the solitary win they've managed in their last seven Premier League fixtures, but have put tickets for both games back on sale after numerous returns.
Sunderland could draw level on points with Chelsea and lift themselves out of the relegation zone with a win at Stamford Bridge.
The home side meanwhile could leapfrog Bournemouth and Newcastle as they continue to flounder at the wrong end of the table.
And it would appear that Jose Mourinho's side's poor form is turning fans off as the club announced it would resell tickets for both the Sunderland game and the traditional Boxing Day clash with high-flying Watford.
A club announcement said: "We have had some tickets returned for our forthcoming home games against Sunderland (December 19) and Watford (December 26) which will be going back on sale tomorrow, Thursday 17 December."
The tickets for the game against the Black Cat will go on general sale, while Watford tickets will only be available to members.
However, the very fact that fans are returning tickets for the ever-popular Boxing Day fixture against local rivals must be worrying for the club, as well as under-fire manager Mourinho.
The Portuguese has today been the subject of emergency talks between owner Roman Abramovich and fellow Chelsea board members, as they consider a change of leadership in an effort to improve their title defence.
