Stefan Kiessling (centre) is considering his future at Bayer Leverkusen |
Kiessling, 31, has been at the Bundesliga club for almost a decade after leaving Nuremberg in 2006.
The striker, who boasts five goals for the season, is reportedly wanted by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
He scored twice in Bayer's 5-0 win over Monchengladbach - his first league start since October - on Saturday and admitted it could be his last appearance for the club.
"I’ve got to be honest and say we’ll have to see," he told Sky Sport Deutschland.
"I’ve given it some thought and I will keep thinking about it.
"The situation is that of course I would like to be playing – I’ve been here for 10 years and love this club and everybody knows how happy I am here.
"I’ve got a pretty good relationship with the fans and of course also with the club.
"I love playing here and I love this club, and it’s overall a very, very difficult situation for me and everybody knows this."
"I’ll speak to the bosses and see what the best solution is.
"I’ve been here nearly 10 years and always played and when you sit on the bench so often, then it does get on your nerves."
Kiessling says goodbye to fans as the Bundesliga begins its winter break |
He is seen as a cheap and reliable stand-in for the injured Daniel Sturridge.
However, Bayer manager Roger Schmidt this month insisted he won't surrender his star man without a fight.
"This topic is zero per cent for both Stefan and myself," Schmidt told Sport1.
"We have already lost many players in the summer who played here for a long time and it created a small problem in the first half of the season.
"I am not at all thinking about selling the next experience player [in January] again."
