LUIS ENRIQUE wants Philippe Coutinho at Barcelona for next season.
The Liverpool star has shown glimpses of his talent under Jurgen Klopp this season.
He was sensational as the Reds ran riot against Manchester City at the Etihad.
But the Brazil man has struggled at times with Liverpool's inconsistency.
He has also been out with injury recently.
But Coutinho, 23, is regarded as one of Jurgen Klopp's best players and Liverpool would loathe to sell him.
But, according to reports in Spain, Enrique wants him to play behind his deadly trio of Luis Suarez, Neymar and Lionel Messi.
Coutinho has five goals and three assists in 13 appearances with Liverpool ninth in the league.
They have improved under Klopp but lost to Newcastle and drew with West Brom in their previous two games.
Failure to make the Champions League for a successive season may influence Coutinho's decision on his future.
Barcelona, meanwhile, are top of La Liga - level on points with Atletico Madrid - and five points clear of rivals Real Madrid.
They face Arsenal in the last 16 of the Champions League and are bidding to be the first team to retain it in the modern era.
