Stefan Reuter says Augsburg can't wait to face Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool |
AUGSBURG boss Stefan Reuter has revealed his delight at drawing Liverpool in the last 32 of the Europa League.
The German club, who currently sit 13th in the Bundesliga, only narrowly got out of group L.
They pipped FK Partizan to second spot on head-to-head results, with both teams getting nine points.
And Reuter has admitted it was a dream come true to qualify and draw Liverpool in the knock-out stages of the competition.
"It's definitely an absolute highlight for our fans and all the people at Augsburg," he told UEFA's official website.
"During the draw my phone was vibrating constantly as so many people were asking for tickets already.
"They want to be there. This is an absolute highlight for us. For the club, it is the match everybody was dreaming of."
The game will be Jurgen Klopp's first encounter with a German top-flight side since he left Borussia Dortmund in April this year.
The Reds were one of the seeded sides in the draw alongside Manchester United and Tottenham, and have never faced Augsburg before.
The first leg will take place on February 18 at the WWK Arena, with the return fixture at Anfield one week later on February 25.
