Jurgen Klopp insists he will not look to bolster Liverpool's squad in January |
JURGEN KLOPP says he will not need to spend in January to bolster Liverpool's squad.
Under the German, Liverpool are taking the Europa League seriously and are in the Capital One Cup semi-finals. And they will be looking to get their top-four challenge in the Premier League back on track when they face West Brom at Anfield tomorrow.
"Flanno [Jon Flanagan] will come back in next week, then we have two left full-backs, two right. I don't feel we have to look other people just because they cost £20million," said Klopp.
"We know all the players in world football - some fit us some don't so we will see what happens."
One player who is almost certain to feature in the January transfer window is West Brom striker Saido Berahino. And boss Tony Pulis claims Berahino asked to play for Albion's reserves in a bid to regain his first-team place for Christmas.
The controversial striker played and scored for the Baggies' Under-21s against West Ham on Monday after losing his place in Pulis's first team.
"We don't want it just for Christmas, we want him back in the fold and as good as he was last year," said Pulis.
"Saido asked to play [in the under-21s]. He wanted to have a game. His attitude was first class and he scored a good goal. He needed a game to get closer to match fitness and over the Christmas period, with the amount of games coming up, it's good he has got game time."
