NEWS NEWS BLOG SPORT looks at what could happen at Arsenal in the January transfer window.

Arsenal Transfer Special: £40m budget, midfielder signing, striker eyed, defender to leave
Arsene Wenger injury woes could mean some January business for Arsenal

Who do they need?
Reinforcements in midfield. With Santi Cazorla and Francis Coquelin both out with injuries until February/March, cover is urgent.
Jack Wishere is set to return in the next month but his fitness just can not be relied on long term.

It is a similar situation in attack where Danny Welbeck's injury woes continue to cause concern. Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott need some help in the goalscoring department.
How much can they spend?
Arsenal are reported have at least £40million to spend in January. They could even spend more if Arsene Wenger sees an opportunity to buy a player he really wants.

Who might they sign?
In midfield, Victor Wanyama has been strongly linked with £15m move. If he can't be signed, potential alternatives could be William Carvalho and Ruben Neves, who have been watched extensively by Arsenal scouts.

Attacking reinforcements could come in the shape of Alexander Kokorin, who was allegedly a summer transfer target.

Who could leave?

With a nice blend of experience and youth, Wenger would like to keep his squad together. But Mathieu Debuchy could be the major name leaving the Emirates after losing his right-back place to Hector Bellerin.
