ARSENE WENGER shouldn’t be blamed for Alexis Sanchez’s injury.
Sanchez pulled up with a hamstring problem in the second half of the Gunners’ 1-1 draw away to Norwich on Sunday.
The Chilean superstar it is thought could be out for a month pending on the scan results which are reportedly expected to be made known tomorrow.
Arsenal’s injury problems have been well documented this term, and there are currently nine players out of action.
But Gunners legend Martin Keown thinks it is unfair for Wenger to take the flak.
“I don’t think Wenger should be criticised for playing Alexis Sanchez on Sunday because he must be a difficult player to manage,” Keown told the Daily Mail.
“When I last visited the training ground, Sanchez was on a rest day.
“All he wanted to do was extra training. Wenger wants his players to be happy and with Sanchez the best way to do that is to let him play, so I understand why he was picked.”
