Are cinema chains BANNING fancy dress and the use of LIGHTSABERS at screenings?

Star Wars: The Force Awakens has already broken box office records. UK cinemas are reporting that they have already sold more than TWICE the number of pre-sale tickets than they did for James Bond's SPECTRE.
But do not despair if you have not bought yours tickets yet. The Force will need to be strong in you, but you CAN still find some last minute tickets.

What are the rules for costumes at screenings?

Major UK cinema chains Odeon and Cineworld are reporting the addition of extra screening to meet the unprecented demand for tickets.
Vue has arranged for an additional 200 screens on the opening day this Thursday and a further 100 screens to show the film for opening weekend. That's a whopping 75,000 more seats in total.
Around the country, 113 ODEON Cinemas opened at 12:01am on December 17 for the first showing of the film with constant screenings through through the night and entite day.
At the time of writing, some tickets remain available for screenings today and through the rest of the week.

RULES FOR FANCY DRESS AND LIGHTSABERS AT CINEMA SCREENINGS
George Lucas has already urged fan club members to keep their lightsabers holstered for screenings out of respect for the current concerns about terror attacks and bearing weapons of any sort in public.
Norwich Stars Wars Club UK president Richard Walker confirmed they had been asked not to take their weapons out.
"We've been asked by George Lucas not to use or draw weapons, most cinemas have asked everyone to leave them at home. We're fine with that, it's probably a good idea given what happened in France."
UK cinemas have issued their own guidelines about acceptable fancy dress.

STAR WARS SCREENING FANCY DRESS RULES:
ODEON cinemas are asking film fans to follow some simple rules to avoid issues with their costumes upon arrival for screenings.
1. Leave anything that looks like a gun or blade at home.
2. Lightsabers ARE welcome but must be switched off during the film.
3. Face masks must be removed when entering the screening.
4. Large costumes, such as Wookiee outfits, which may obscure the view of customers in the rows behind, are not permitted.

And finally, if you need some light relief after all those rules, regulations and ticket-buying pressures, Carrie Fisher has provided some much-needed amusement.
The actress also known as Princess Leia (or GENERAL Leia in the new films) finally had her revenge on Jabba The Hut.
Fisher posted a humourous – and rather rude – message on twitter where she shows EXACTLY what she thinks of her former slave lord.
Posing with her trusty dog, Gary, next to a life-size replica of the slug-like villain, she lets her finger do the talking.
"Merry ForceMust from Gary & his trusty tongue, Jabba Claus without his drool covered tongue....&...moi" she wrote.
The seasonal Christmas punning may be a bit laboured, but the sign language is crystal clear.
Fisher has also spoken out indignantly about studio demands that she lose some weight before returning to the iconic role.
Internet interest in Fisher has been sky high since the first incredible images emerged of the actress as Princess Leia in The Force Awakens.
