ROY HODGSON has pencilled in March 3 for an England get together - providing the Premier League clubs agree to the request.

The Three Lions boss has also asked the clubs to aid England's quest for success in Euro 2016 by furnishing his medical men at the end of the season with the individual performance data of those players called up for the tournament.
Hodgson saw his ambitions for a get together during an inactive spell of games last season vetoed by the clubs who insisted there wasn't a suitable time to release their England stars.
Now Hodgson has opted for what he hopes will be a quiet Thursday afternoon in readiness for high profile friendlies against Germany and Holland at the end of March.

He is more optimistic of some good will being shown by the clubs this time around - but is still prepared for the worst.
Hodgson said: "To be frank one afternoon - it would be nice to have it - but we aren't going to stand or fall on one afternoon with the players for three hours.
"If the clubs decide we are not going to have it I'm not going to be crying too much. I think they will give it to us. I don't doubt they will give it to us.

Hodgson will have to convince Premier League clubs to release their players at a crucial time

"Last year when we mooted the idea and they said 'sorry, no' one or two clubs saying Thursday night wasn't a good night for them - they prefer not - it was the easiest thing in the world to say, okay let's leave it then."
The fitness stats at the end of the season are to bring Hodgson and his aides up to date with the performance details of England's Euro 2016 bound squad.
