Destiny The Taken King lost some missions along the way
Destiny: The Taken King had some extra missions that never made it into the game, Bungie has revealed.
According to creative director Luke Smith, the Cryptarch was set to offer corrupted engram missions to players on Xbox and PlayStation.
However the extra content failed to make the final cut, leaving a few mysteries in its path.
"Just bad, unfixable bugs we found in certification, so we punted them," explained Smith to Edge on the subject of why it was left out.
Smith also revealed that Destiny will see the launch of a new item that could help when taking on the game's tougher missions.
"There was another item that reset your Nightfall cooldown so you could run another one," he added.
"We’re going to experiment with them in the future."

Fallout 4 fans will be able to taste some of the home comforts of the wastelands soon after Bethesda revealed their plans to launch a limited supply of Nuka Cola Quantum.
The studio confirmed the news via their official Twitter feed, telling fans that it would be exclusively stocked at Target retail stores in the United States.
The rare drink can be found in-game in Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, while its real world counterpart is being made by Jones Soda Co.
The drink will be sold on the same day the game is released on November 10, with Target confirming that the product range is exclusive to US stores.
It looks like Nuka Cola will also have a limited run, with Target also confirming that they have no plans to range Nuka Cola Quantum.

Treyarch have teased a new story expansion for Black Ops 3 Zombies, via The Giant Bonus Map.
Speaking during the Juggernog Edition Unboxing with Activision's Scott Lowe, Treyarch’s Jason Blundell revealed that the main Shadows of Evil storyline looked set to cross paths with the original characters of the Zombies universe.
The Giant is a remake of the map Der Riese found in Call of Duty: World at War and Call of Duty: Black Ops and includes  Dempsey, Nikolai, Richtofen, and Takeo in an expanded plot with Edward Richtofen.
When asked if fans could hope for the original Zombies story to continue past The Giant Bonus Map, Blundell commented: "Absolutely."
"There is a definite story we're telling and with Black Ops 3 and our DLC to come, it allows us to pick up some of the old threads that we left open for a while, close certain loops and open new threads," he added.
"It'll Really give people something to invest in when they play one map and it connects into furthers maps, because of the holistic approach we took in terms of thinking it all at once.
"It means we can put more seeds in."
