Manuel Pellegrini issues Raheem Sterling warning ahead of Liverpool clash
Manuel Pellegrini has urged Sterling to keep his cool
MANUEL PELLEGRINI has warned Raheem Sterling he must adopt "a cold mind" and turn a deaf ear towards the Liverpool hate mob.

Sterling knows he faces hostility from 3,000 travelling Liverpool fans at the Etihad Stadium when he faces his former club for the first time since his acrimonious £49million summer move to Manchester City.
But Pellegrini says the England international cannot allow the abuse to distract him as City bid to return to winning ways after being held to a draw by basement club Aston Villa.
"One of the most important things in important games is to have a cold mind," he said.

"Maybe a hot heart but a cold mind because you cannot afford to make mistakes.
"All the boos and the different things from the fans are off of the pitch.
"The important thing is what happens between the players on the pitch. There is a lot of intensity in these games.

rling has already settled quickly into his role at Man City
"We know we are playing for very important points so any mistake could result in an unnecessary yellow card or a penalty."
Sergio Aguero is back for City after a seven-game absence but is not fit enough to last the full 90 minutes but Vincent Kompany's calf problem has flared again, David Silva is still out with his ankle injury, Wilfried Bony is side lined with a hamstring strain and Samir Nasri's tendon injury will now keep him out until the spring.
