ANTONIO VALENCIA has been ruled out for five months, according to reports.
The Manchester United winger underwent surgery earlier in the week after picking up an injury in the derby last month.
Valencia damaged the bone above his left foot and may have caused further damage by playing on against City and not leaving the pitch immediately, according to the Sun.
And, while United have not yet put a timescale on the injury, it is reported that the Ecuador international could miss five months of action.
Valencia, 30, has made six Premier League appearances this season and three in the Champions League group stages.
Used mainly as a right-back, Valencia has fallen behind Matteo Darmian in Louis van Gaal's pecking order but he did start the derby at the end of last month.
He came off with nine minutes remaining and hasn't featured in the four games since.
