MANCHESTER UNITED have released a statement following the injury to Anthony Martial.
The France striker was pictured on crutches and with his ankle strapped after England's 2-0 win over Spain last night.
Didier Deschamps admitted he was in "quite a bit of pain" and that he'd taken a knock to the top of his foot.
United fans rushed to social media for answers, but this afternoon United released a statement.
"It is worth stating the true severity of the injury is yet to be confirmed and Louis van Gaal is likely to provide that update during his pre-match press conference at the Aon Training Complex on Friday," it said on the club's website.
Martial signed for United on deadline in a deal which could eventually be worth £58million.
He scored on his debut against Liverpool and hit five in his first nine games.
The 19-year-old is now on a five-game scoreless run, however, and could miss this weekend's clash with Watford on Saturday.
Michael Carrick is also a doubt after picking up an injury against Spain.
