Manchester United are set to begin talks with Zlatan Ibrahimovic over a potential deal, according to reports.

The Paris Saint-Germain striker has been linked with a move away from France and United are reportedly keen to bring him to Old Trafford.

Spanish outlet Fichajes, report the Red Devils will begin discussions with the 34-year-old to suss out his potential interest in joining the Red Devils.

The Sweden international has 12 goals in all competitions for the Ligue 1 outfit this season.

 

Louis van Gaal says he wants to add "speedy wingers" to his squad in January

Louis van Gaal has revealed that he hopes to sign at least one winger during the transfer window.

"I have said already in my first year many times we need speed and creativity on the wings," he said.

"You have seen that now we play with Jesse Lingard and he is not the most speedy winger in the world and Mata is also not the most speedy winger in the world.

"So first we must first finish that problem and then we can see how we have to play and how we are in balance with playing with speedy wingers."

United have been boosted by reports that suggest Luke Shaw could be back before the end of the season.

Shaw suffered a double-leg break against PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League two months ago and was expected to be out for the campaign as well as miss the European Championships.

But according to The Sunday Mirror, Shaw is recovering well ahead of schedule and is already walking without crutches.

He is expected to be back in contention for United's final few games.
