INTER MILAN are ready to offer Branislav Ivanovic a route out of Chelsea, according to reports.
The Blues defender has endured a nightmare start to the season that has mirrored his side's downfall.
Previously one of boss Jose Mourinho's must trusted allies, the 31-year-old looks out of sorts and out of form as the club have spiralled towards crisis.
Mourinho is now on the brink of the sack, while the normally solid defender's future is uncertain as well.
And The Sunday People claim he is unhappy but not unwanted.
Inter boss Roberto Mancini knows all about his qualities having faced him as manager of Manchester City.
He remains something of a hero in the blue half of Manchester and could now raid one of their traditional tile rivals for one of their star players.
It is also claimed Ivanovic is keen to sign a new deal but his dip in form means that is highly unlikely.
His contract is set to expire at the end of the season and Inter boss Mancini is hoping to snap him up on a free.
The Italian will probably have to wait until February to find out if a move is realistic as the Blues' policy when it comes to players over 30 is that no discussions are had until then.
Serbia international Ivanovic moved to west London from Lokomotiv Moscow for £9.7million in 2008.
He has won two Premier league titles, three FA Cups, a League Cup, the Champions League and the Europa League during his time.
