Jurgen Klopp has only suffered one defeat in charge of the Reds

DEJAN LOVREN has expressed his delight at playing under Jurgen Klopp.

 

The German has impressed since his arrival on Merseyside, losing just one game in charge of the Reds.

Liverpool put in an impressive display against Manchester City at the weekend as they defeated Manuel Pellegrini's side 4-1 at the Etihad Stadium.

And Lovren insists Klopp has made a huge difference to the belief his side have in getting results.

 

"It is a great pleasure to play under Jürgen," Lovren told the club's website. 

"We know what he achieved with Borussia Dortmund before, and he definitely has made big changes in the team. The most important thing, as he said, is that we needed to believe in ourselves. 

"I think we have started to believe in ourselves - and I think we have seen in the last couple of games that we have."

 

The Reds host Bordeaux tonight (8.05pm) in the Europa League and Lovren says his team won't be taking the Ligue 1 outfit lightly.

"We know it will definitely be a tough game," he added. "Bordeaux are a quality, quality team in the French league, but what is important for us is that we need to win if we want to be first in the group. 

"We definitely expect a hard game, but I think especially after the last game against Man City, we have much more confidence in ourselves and hopefully we can repeat that game."
