Jamie Vardy admits he got carried away after scoring |
JAMIE VARDY has admitted he got a bit carried away after he scored his record-breaking 11th consecutive league goal.
The Leicester striker reached the feat with a 24-minute strike against Manchester United, opening the scoring to make it 1-0.
However the Red Devils clawed it back before half-time courtesy of Bastian Schweinsteiger's goal - his first for the club.
But Vardy believes the point was a valuable one, even if he did get a little carried away after his first-half goal.
"The main thing was the performance, we put a shift in and a point was the fair result," he said.
"We have a lot of pace in the team and counter attacking is a big advantage for us.
"We have come straight from a corner. It's unbelievable, I got a bit carried away with myself!
"There has been a lot of focus on me, I have kept my head down and not tried to think too much about it. I knew it would be a battle against Chris Smalling and it was an entertaining one for the neutrals.
"We are disappointed in the way we conceded the goal. We are taking each game as it comes and now look forward to Swansea next week."
