BlizzCon saw Ostkaka crowned the Hearthstone 2015 World Champion |
HEARTHSTONE'S League of Explorers expansion includes 45 new cards, with its announcement coming just a day after a new World Champion was crowned as BlizzCon.
The new single player experience adds a roster of new cards to use and launches on November 12.
Blizzard confirmed during BlizzCon 2015 that much like the single player experiences added to the game in the past, League of Explorers will be a one-time event, although the developers haven't ruled out going back to it it at a later date if fans wanted its return.
The League of Explorers features two new game boards and adds the Discover keyword, which allows for three random cards to be played that can be used by your class.
Players must have unlocked all nine heroes to play and includes nine new class challenges that task you with using a special pre-built deck, Blizzard has confirmed.
The League of Explorers is led by Brann Bronzebeard, who can rely on the support of treasure hunter extraordinaire Reno Jackson, brilliant night elf scholar Elise Starseeker, and murloc adventurer Sir Finley Mrrgglton.
Ostkaka won the final Conquest battle |
It follows the news coming from BlizzCon that Ostkaka has been crowned the 2015 Hearthstone World Champion.
He secured victory against Canadian player Hotform in a three-win battle during the best-of-five Conquest encounter.
Both players brought three decks, with Ostkaka winning a game with each deck to claim the victory.
A Blizzard statement on the tournament explained: "The road to the World Championship began in January, and saw thousands of the greatest Hearthstone players in the world fiercely dueling for the title of 2015 Hearthstone World Champion.
"These players competed in tournaments, and did battle on the Ranked Play ladder, honing their skills and gathering all-important Hearthstone World Championship points that later offered passage to qualifier tournaments!
"2015 saw the return of many players with competitive conquests left unfinished, and also introduced us to a multitude of new players eager to follow in the footsteps of the 2014 World Champion, Firebat.
"Ultimately, Ostkaka proved his mettle through a combination of well-tuned decks, cunning plays and, at times, just a little bit of help from the odd Blade Flurry!"
