THE German football team were evacuated from a hotel in Paris following a bomb threat - just hours before a mass shooting left scores dead in the city.
The establishment was cleared of its guests after the hotel received a tip-off in an anonymous phone call, according to French newspaper Le Parisien.
The exclusive Molitor hotel in the French capital's 16th arrondissement was searched with special force police dogs, but it is not known if anything suspicious was found.
Hours later loud blasts were heard during the match, believed to be made by a suicide bomber just outside the stadium.
Before the horror unfolded around the city, Mr Bierhoff told a German newspaper: "There was a bomb threat. The hotel has been widely cordoned off and evacuated.”
The bomb scare didn't seem to have fazed the German players, with midfielder Sami Khedira posting on Instagram: "Bomb threat for the hotel. No problem for Die Mannschaft: then we'll play some Tennis at Roland Garros."

Bus routes around the hotel have been diverted.
Paris has seen several bomb scares this year following the terrorist attacks on satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo and a Kosher store in January.
The iconic Eiffel Tower was forced to close and thousands were evacuated from Charles de Gaulle airport following separate bomb alerts.
The German team has since returned to its hotel and is preparing for tonight's game against France.
