David De Gea was disappointed to see Javier Hernandez leave Manchester United |
MANCHESTER UNITED goalkeeper David De Gea has questioned Louis van Gaal's decision to sell Javier Hernandez.
The Mexico international was sold to Bayer Leverkusen in the summer for a reported £12million after struggling for game time under Van Gaal.
The 27-year-old striker, who spent last season on loan at Real Madrid, has since recovered his goalscoring form at the German club.
Hernandez has bagged 10 goals in all competitions this term, leaving De Gea amazed at Van Gaal's decision to sell him.
"These are decisions for the coach. But in my team he would always play," De Gea told ESPN Deportee show Fuera De Juego.
"He was an undisputed starter before and player of the year at United. He can get you 20, 30 goals a season. I would like a lot to play with him again, hopefully it can happen."
Hernandez has been linked with a shock move to Premier League rivals Chelsea this week, despite a source close to Bayer denying any negotiations had taken place.
