CRISTIANO RONALDO insists former club Manchester United have every chance of winning the Premier League this season because Louis van Gaal is doing a good job as manager.
The United legend, 30, won three league crowns during six years at Old Trafford but they have not tasted league glory since Sir Alex Ferguson retired.
However, in Van Gaal, Ronaldo thinks they have the right man to return the club to former glories.
"He is doing a good job at Manchester United especially this year,’ the Portuguese told The Evening Standard at the premiere of his film "Ronaldo" last night.
"As people know, Manchester United is a club I support and I like it so what I expect is that Manchester United can be champions this year. This is my wish."
The Real Madrid star has been strongly linked with a return to Manchester as his long-term future in Spain remains uncertain.
He previously refused to rule it out himself and was also quizzed about the possibility of playing under Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho again.

The pair worked together at the Bernabeu before Mourinho moved to Stamford Bridge for a second spell.
And Ronaldo did not completely dismiss the possibility of playing for Chelsea at some point down the line.
"Work with Mourinho again? Why not?," he told Marca.
"I've got two more years on my contract with Real Madrid, but no-one knows what the future holds."
