BURTON ALBION have dismissed reports claiming that boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is on the brink of taking over at Queens Park Rangers.
The former Chelsea striker was said to be close to succeeding Chris Ramsey after just 12 months with the League One outfit.
Since joining Burton - following a stint at Royal Antwerp - he has guided the side to promotion from League Two, where the club currently sit 4th and in the play-off places.
This success led to speculation claiming that the ex-Chelsea forward was QPR’s top target, but Burton have released a statement to clarify his position at the Pirelli Stadium.
"The team and the manager have done fantastically well over the last 12 months and that inevitably means that there will be speculation when job vacancies arise," said chairman Ben Robinson on the club’s official site.
"We have not had an approach from QPR and Jimmy remains focussed on two important League One games coming up against Bury and Wigan."
Neil Warnock remains in charge of the West London club on an interim basis, and has ruled himself out of taking over on a permanent basis.
