DIDIER DESCHAMPS insists Olivier Giroud’s quality has never been in doubt.
Giroud spurned several key opportunities for Arsenal last Sunday as they ground out a point at home to Tottenham in the north London derby.
The 29-year-old has been included in the France squad for their friendly against Germany tomorrow (8pm).
Giroud’s form has been called into question at times this season, albeit he has scored seven goals in his last eight games for club and country.
This is a marked contrast from the start of the campaign when he netted just twice in the same number of matches.
And France boss Deschamps claims he knew Giroud wouldn’t let his indifferent form affect him.
“All players may have difficult times," Deschamps said.
”A striker, when he lacks a little confidence and playing time, it's complicated.
"He already had the opportunity to show his qualities in the France team.
“He is one of six offensive players who have a role to play between Friday and Tuesday."
