ARSENE WENGER has urged his Arsenal players to put the 5-1 Champions League humbling by Bayern Munich behind them and concentrate on keeping their Premier League title challenge on track.
He is banking on a positive response to that when fierce rivals Spurs come calling at The Emirates having lost only once in the league since the first match of the season.
And Wenger is also insisting it is not over yet in Europe for his Gunners either.
The Frenchman will stay loyal to his players despite the disappointing defeat in Germany that, barring miracles, looks like the end of their Champions League campaign for another season.
He said: "I like to be loyal. When you have played football you know that players are not machines.
"This is a good opportunity to put things right. We knew the Bayern game was special for us, but the Premier League is a competition where we are on a strong run up to now and we want to continue that.
"That is what is at stake, to respond."
Wenger reckons he should know by Christmas whether Arsenal can lift the Premier League title this season.
"We have to be in the fight at Christmas," he said. "The desire is there, but we need to show it in all our games.
"What is good for us is we have played all the teams fighting at the top apart from Manchester City.
"When we were top two years ago we had not played all the big teams, only those in the second half of the table. This time we are in a stronger position."
Wenger, who believes Bayern are the best side in the Champions League, also insisted: "I feel we are not out of that competition yet. We can still have a bright future in it."
