Alex Grimaldo is willing to leave Barcelona in search of first-team football |
ARSENAL are keeping tabs on Barcelona's second-team captain Alex Grimaldo, according to reports.
The left-back is one of the most highly-rated defenders in Europe, but is keen to leave the Nou Camp as he searches for first-team action.
Barcelona B were relegated from Spain's Segunda last season, meaning Grimaldo has been plying his trade in the third tier of Spanish football this season.
Barcelona sporting director Robert Fernandez, this week claimed the full-back isn't willing to sign a new deal.
And The Mirror claim Arsenal are in people position to sign the 20-year-old if he chooses to leave the Catalan giants.
Former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola is also interested in the defender and wants to bring him to Bayern Munich.
However Grimaldo could join the likes of Cesc Fabregas and Hector Bellerín in leaving La Masia to move to north London.
