KIERAN GIBBS thinks tiredness and injuries were behind Arsenal's failure to beat Tottenham at the Emirates.
The north London rivals had to settle for a share of the spoils from an entertaining game.
Harry Kane put the visitors in front and Gibbs popped up as the unlikely man to steal a point for the Gunners in the second half.
The defender admits he was surprised and delighted to find the back of the net, but was disappointed not to get more than a point just days after being thrashed by Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
"Goals don't come often for me but when they do hopefully it's enough to help the team," he told Sky Sports.
"We know what the game means to everyone. We're struggling with injuries at the moment, players were tired from midweek.
"Obviously it's disappointing to drop points, especially when we're in such a strong position in the league."
The Gunners went level on points with Premier league leaders Manchester City with a point and remain well in the hunt for a first title since 2004.
Meanwhile, Spurs are now just a point behind Manchester United and a Champions League place.
